    380K to $650K in 2 Hours

Assess AI sales follow-up by incremental contribution, customer experience and complete operating cost, not simply more messages or higher activity.

I've watched Australian boards spend millions testing AI like it's a lab experiment, "let's see what happens" budgets. The problem? Testing mindset kills ROI before it starts. When you test AI, your team isn't fully invested in implementation. When you invest in AI with clear problem ownership, results can be immediate. Brad Granger (Managing Director, Podium ) proved it: at one Australian dealership, an AI agent became ROI-positive on its cost within 2 hours, by chasing deferred service bookings that were being ignored. That unlocked an annualised uplift from $380K to $650K that was previously walking out the door untouched. The Test-First Trap: Businesses that "test" AI aren't fully invested in setup, so results fail. I won't work with clients that want to test, only those committed to solving a specific problem. When setup is correct and teams are bought in, ROI follows. Testing mindset = stalled pilots. Investment mindset = measurable outcomes. The Three Questions: Before signing with any AI vendor, ask: (1) Can you provide 3 customer references at similar scale who will advocate for your product? 2) What's your roadmap? How are you investing to ensure this solution evolves with AI advancement, not becoming stale in 6 months? (3) How does my data integrate? An AI agent is only as good as the information it can access. If a vendor can't answer these clearly, you know what to do...walk away. The Employee Framework: Treat AI agents like employee. You hire them as interns, train them, promote them as they improve. What you buy today should be the worst version you'll ever get. If an AI agent costs $1,000/month and delivers 10x ROI, but costs $2,000 in 12 months because it's been trained and improved to deliver 20x ROI, the investment justifies itself. Australian businesses fail when they treat AI as a fixed-cost tool rather than a developing asset. Under VAISS compliance, this also means your AI governance frameworks must scale as capability scales. Efficiency AND Growth: Efficiency (cost reduction) or growth (revenue increase)? For example, an automotive service centre loses 65% of deferred work because staff lack time to follow up. An AI agent chases those leads, books appointments, and converts lost revenue, freeing human staff to focus on complex customer service. Sales teams get pre-booked test drives instead of cold calling. Result: 100% of human time spent on high-value tasks, with AI handling low-function work. The ROI compounds. The Implementation Reality: Flashy demos break when they hit complexity. No customer conversation is linear. AI must handle deviations, show empathy, and adapt, not just answer pre-loaded FAQs. The difference between a glorified chatbot and an AI agent is clear: can the business update policies, and response pathways live, in real time, without lodging support tickets? The Procurement Trap: Businesses spend and test multiple AI tools without clear problem owners. Costs compound, outcomes don't happen, and teams conclude "AI doesn't work." The vendor landscape is saturated with solutions chasing the AI bubble. If the provider can't demonstrate customer advocacy, a clear roadmap, and data integration capability...again - walk away. **The Advocacy Audit: ** Before approving your next AI investment, demand 3 customer references from Australian enterprises at similar scale. What does your roadmap look like in 12 months, and how will this solution evolve with AI advancement?
